Armoring Specifications
Golan Group
installs all opaque and transparent armor materials,
installation hardware, special security equipment,
suspension up-grade equipment, braking up-grade,
drive line up-grade as/if required (i.e. drive
shaft), and all materials needed to make templates
in accordance with specifications, and all ballistic
certifications for transparent and opaque materials.

Golan Group administrates and
provides logistical support for its clients worldwide.
The following is an itemized list of specific
Golan Group armoring techniques and features:
Key
Armoring Features |
|
|
|
Self-sealing
Fuel Tank - If fuel tank is punctured,
a special exterior coating on the tank, designed
to reseal the hole in seconds, is automatically
activated.

- Integrated
Armor Plating - All opaque armor
materials are given a protective coating, which
ensures a smooth surface and allows for effective
inspection of armor materials for cracks. Materials
used in the opaque areas include FAMSON, monolithic
Steel, SPECTRA and Kevlar. Armor plating is
installed on all sides of the passenger compartment.
In addition, the rear cargo area will be fully
armored between passenger compartment and cargo
area, again ensuring 100% protection of the
passenger compartment. Size dimension of transparent
portion is sufficient to allow for rear view
vision with minimal obstruction and does not
impede safe operation.

- Enhanced Suspension
- Suspension system, attachment points and related
infrastructure components are modified to meet
after-armoring mass of vehicle (a minimum of
25% upgrade). We consult with vehicle OEM as/if
necessary and/or aftermarket firm specializing
in suspension systems.
Drive shaft and couplings (attachment
points) and related infrastructure components
are reinforced to accommodate increased vibration/stress
due to additional weight of the armor mass.

Advanced
Braking System - Brake system shall
accommodate after-armoring mass of vehicle and
be of such design as to ensure against excessive
brake fade and/or failure at high speed (100
mph plus) and/or repeated use. We will consult
with vehicle OEM as/if necessary and/or aftermarket
firm specializing in braking component systems
as required.
Specific vehicle acceleration, braking and cornering
at after armoring mass weight on dry surface
will allow for positive controls at all times.

Composite
Security Glass - Transparent armor
is a one-piece construction with anti-spalding
inner layer. Transparent armor is made of glass-plastic
(polycarbonate), laminated construction and
has a material alone capable of meeting or exceeding
the ballistic protection specified in the Armoring
Standards table above. Exposed polycarbonate
surface shall be treated with an abrasion-resistant
coating. Transparent armor will be tinted to
darkest level except the forward windshield
which will remain clear

- Ballistic Nylon
Floor Panels - Armoring of entire
floor area, passenger compartment consisting
of an armoring fiber of ballistic nylon formed
with a minimum of eight (8) layers. Installation
must ensure against gaps and sufficient overlapping
with other opaque areas within passenger compartment.
Minimum protection level to withstand blasts
underneath the vehicle (hard or soft surface)
from two (2) DM 51 German ordnance, grenades
and/or similar blasts.

Run-flat
Tires - Standard type or tire/wheel
combination (warranted), all five (5) wheels
(includes spare) to allow vehicle to travel
at a high rate of speed after puncture. The
rims are tested to meet or exceed load imposed
on each wheel (armor mass and full passenger
load). Applicable tire pressure labels will
be provided.

- Operable Power
Windows - One-piece transparent armor
is constructed such that the window can be manually
and hydraulically or electronically moved up
and down. Emergency activation to raise/lower
window in the event of power failure is accessible
to the driver. Appearance of operable windows
is identical to the fixed windows (if any).
As desired by customer, all passenger door windows
can either be fixed and/or operate manually
and electronically.
- Monolithic
Steel Dashboard - Armoring of the
vehicle dashboard area will consist of monolithic
Steel.

Sealed
Gel Battery -Batteries are armor
protected by monolithic steel. Optional Installation
of second battery (backup) with primary-secondary
switch easily accessible to the vehicle operator.
Both batteries, primary and secondary, are the
same as or equal to Optima Gel Cell batteries.
Ballistic
Roof Panel / Sunroof - Armoring of
the entire roof area covering the passenger
compartment consists of armoring fiber (e.g.
Kevlar or FAMSON) and / or monolithic steel
to protect the passenger compartment.
Addional Features:
- Locking gas cap: Golan Group canl install
a steel covered locking gas cap if vehicle is
not so equipped.
- Tailpipe protection: We will install
a twenty (20) gage, stainless-steel mesh in
the tailpipe or a 6-10mm bolt; nut to be spot
welded.
- Vehicle management system (black box)
if located outside of passenger compartment
area will be armor protected.
- We will up-grade vehicle electrical system
(alternator), engine cooling system (radiator/oil
cooler/transmission cooler) and power steering
as/if required based on armor mass-full passenger
load and technical consultation with OEM.
Optional Features:
- External door locking system will be
replaced with a high security multi-lock keyed
entry system with impossible to copy key system.
- Alarm and loudspeaker (inside/outside)
system. A tampering alarm can be provided and
installed to detect unauthorized entry and/or
attempted entry into the vehicle's interior
and engine compartment. The tampering alarm
is inconspicuous from the exterior.
- An interior/exterior loudspeaker system
can be provided and will allow vehicle occupants
to address and listen to personnel outside the
vehicle. The system is installeded such that
vehicle-generated interference is eliminated.
This communication system is easily accessible
to both front occupants. System will also have
multi-frequency siren capability.
