Position:
FEDERAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCT SALES MANAGER
General Statement of Duties:
The Business Development Manager and Product Sales
Manager will be directly responsible for establishing
and managing key business relationships with various
Military & Federal Government agencies as well
as with key technology partners. The primary objective
in this role is to plan and execute the development
of strategic broad and deep relationships with
all levels of the government agency and/or customer
organization. Responsibility will include: developing
strong day-to-day relationships with business
counterparts, understanding government funding
and buying cycles, tracking opportunities, managing
the proposal process, and developing quantifiable
objectives that are integrated into company's
overall business strategy.
Principle Activities/Responsibilities:
As a Business Development and Product Sales
Manager, you will:
- Prospect, qualify, propose, negotiate and
close deals.
- Develop account selling strategies.
- Assist with developing business models to
analyze deals.
- Define product and service solutions that
are necessary to fulfill customer requirements.
- Drive relationship-building process at multiple
levels including at the senior executive levels.
- Work with internal teams to ensure organizational
understanding of product strategy and needs.
- Analyze performance of accounts and report
results.
- As required, support executive team in complex
contract negotiations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, or
Business.
- 8+ years of Government business development
success and in-depth experience with Government
funding cycles, FAR/DAR regulations and the
GSA Schedule process.
- Prior service in Military is highly desirable
(will also consider civilian grade of GS-12
or higher).
- Candidate should have a demonstrated ability
to manage and grow Government account relationships
with experience developing marketing plans in
a DOD contracting environment.
- Strong analytic skills. Must be able to think
on your feet and work with complex deal structures
with multiple variables.
- Superior communication skills, including presentations,
phone and e-mail.
- Must be a true team player, able to share
responsibility for key decision-making with
a team, while accepting responsibility to drive
internal decision-making process.
- Must be a US Citizen.
