Position:
Production/Manufacturing Engineer
General Statement of Duties:
This is a responsible supervisory position which
will require a production manager for a high volume
manufacturing facility. Applicants must have
an Engineering Bachelor's Degree with a minimum
of three (3) years and preferably five (5) years
experience in the management and supervision of
a manufacturing business, including but not
limited to materials sourcing, inventory
management, direct supervision of materials
preparation, expert understanding of manufacturing
techniques, and production line management. The
position is largely self-directed, requires supervision
of at least fifteen (15) employees
and demands an ability to prioritize, set and
keep commitments and handle a changing dynamic
work environment. Time management skills, a demand
for teamwork and a commitment to quality are necessary
skills.
Principle Activities/Responsibilities:
- Identify and execute solutions for improvements
in safety, quality, productivity and costs.
- Evaluate capital equipment investments and
justify production cost estimates.
- Evaluate causes of manufacturing/production
problems and assist in resolving such problems.
- Design and prepare drawings of new equipment
or modifications to existing equipment for improvement
of safety.
- Develop specific tooling for manufacturing processes
and evaluate existing tooling with vendors.
Assist in maintenance and improvement of such
tooling.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of existing
and modified manufacturing/production processes.
- Reduce product cost while improving product
quality.
- Responsibilities include logistics supervision,
maintenance and security of products in production
collectively valued in the millions of dollars.
Principle Results/Accountabilities:
- Ensure that products are
properly introduced and manufactured efficiently.
- Ensure that existing product lines are maintained
at specified levels.
- Improve productivity, quality and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical,
Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in component manufacturing
is a requirement. Minimum of three (3) years
preferred is Five (5) years.
- Knowledge of material handling principles
and equipment logistics; parts manufacturing
equipment and processes; automated and manual
assembly processes; time and motion studies;
tooling, jig and fixture design; engineering
mechanics, drafting, heat transfer, electrics
and electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics; control
system principles and equipment, and statistical
process control.
